| Aspen’s real estate market remains stable, with sales prices of around $1,000 up to $2000 per square foot in many segments of the Aspen market! More and more people continue to be drawn to this beautiful area and the extraordinary lifestyle it has to offer. Real estate sales in Pitkin County in 2007 topped out at $2.51 billion, and by all indications appreciation of property in the Aspen market will continue to hold strong, making it apparent that there is no better time than the present to invest in this unique ski town with so much heart and history. After a late start, the 2007/2008 ski season was one for the record books. It snowed 19 of 29 days in February, and March opened with 21 inches of powder. Snowmass received an eye-popping 407 inches of snow, far exceeding the seasonal average of 300 inches. The ESPN Winter X Games returned to Aspen this year for the 12th time January 24th through the 27th, bringing amazing talent and fierce competition to Buttermilk Mountain. The Annual Aspen Food and Wine Classic kicked off the summer season with four days of eating and drinking with world-class chefs and other food and beverage experts. In addition to the trade events, Aspen Mountain opened a few runs for those wanting to get just a few more ski days in!
